Admission Requirements
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Minimum 3.5 in two of the following:
- HIS 106 American Life I
- HIS 107 American Life II
- HIS 115 Foundations of Western Civilization
- HIS 116 Europe Since 1500
- HIS 117 Twentieth Century Europe
- Two upper-division history courses (6 cr)
Program Requirements
Upon admission to the history honors program, the student must select, under advisement, two upper-division history courses to be designated part of an 18 credit honors sequence. The two courses must be designated prior to enrollment in the courses. Any upper-division history courses may be selected except "projects" and "independent study."

HIS 300W Research and Writing Seminar
HIS 498 Honors Thesis
or
HIS 498 Honors Research
Remaining in the Honors Program
To remain in good standing in the Honors Program, the student must maintain a minimum:
- 3.0 GPA overall
- 3.4 GPA in history courses
- 3.4 GPA in the 18 credit honors sequence in history.
