A free screening of the film Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas) will take place on Friday, December 5, at 8:00 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center's Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Auditorium.
Based on a true story, the 2005 French film depicts the World War I Christmas truce of December 1914 through the eyes of French, Scottish, and German soldiers. Written and directed by Christian Carion, the movie was nominated for "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 78th Academy Awards.
